The most popular and the most frequently performed opera of all time returns to the stage of the Ljubljana Opera after 23 years! In a brand-new, fresh production, it is staged by our dear guest Frank Van Laecke, who has already convinced our audience with his unforgettable directions of Lucia di Lammermoor, The Maid of Orleans, The Capulets and the Montagues, as well as many other outstanding performances. La traviata is one of the operatic masterpieces created in a single stroke. Led by a round of continuous creative enthusiasm, the composer managed to compose it in just a month and a half. The opera conveys a famous love story, a drama of great emotions, which the great Verdi based primarily on the psychological involvement of characters, their distress and the criticism of the then-existing social conditions.
